November 7, 2024

I shared my report about the Popo volcano this week.  Here is my report.

On the 21 day of December in 1994 the Mexican sky filled with darkness.  Black clouds of smoke blocked out all the sun from shining down on the people of Mexico City. Ash fell as rain to the ground. Tens of thousands of people had evacuated the houses and left to different places because the government was told by the intelligent scientist that the volcano, Popo, was about to Erupt.  Ash was carried as far as 16 mi away by prevailing winds. The activity prompted the evacuation of nearby towns.

This volcano is still active today.  In 2005 it had an explosion of lava.  Ash and smoke went flying up into the atmosphere about 2 miles high. Later, in 2012 scientists observed the volcano getting ready for another eruption.  There were reports of superheated rock fragments being hurled into the air by the volcano.  Ash and water vapor plumes were reported 15 times over 24 hours.  Popo the volcano has had 15 major eruptions, and one of its biggest was in 1947!  It is still active today, and bubbles lava, like boiling water, out the top.  Popo Volcano had major activity a few days ago on October 19th 2024.

Popocatepetl, or more commonly known as Popo, has a height of 17,694ft. (10,000 + 7,000 + 600 + 90 + 4).That is about 17,690 ft when rounded to the nearest 10 or about 17,700 rounded to the nearest 100.  In my research I discovered that the volcano is about 730,000 years old.

i read an inspiring book and so I know I am  amazing  and positive  are insanely active, and even  interesting. Not too specific but things maybe about cute animals, validation, or interesting facts, or funny (without being cruel) content that God made for me and you.             in math this week I learned all about volume almost every shape has a different equation to what its volume is

November 21, 2024

This week I wrote a fictional story. Here is that story.

"The Zombie Fungi

“We’re home,” my brother and I shouted.

“What's for dinner?” I called to my parents. I was really hungry and my tummy was like blah blah blah.

My parents said, “Well, what do you want for dinner?”

“Can we have soup?” my brother called.

“What if we have a super special soup surprise?”i sead

“Yes sir!” my brother called.

“Okay, okay.” my mom said. ‘“Will you guys go grab mushrooms for it?”

“Of course, mom!” We chimed together.  We went out to go grab mushrooms.  It was so nice outside. There were big beautiful green trees and a big Grove of Aspens. If you were up at the right time all the leaves would shimmer colors and fall down on you.  It was so fun.  In the fall the leaves all changed into bright orange, red, and yellow.  It was almost as if I were in a fairy tale world. I loved it so much but before we went out we had to give our mom a hug. It was her special rule that whenever we go out we have to give her a hug. We loved doing it. The mushrooms that mom needed were hard to find. You had to go inside a tight grove of trees to find the good ones.  We started looking around. My brother said, “How about we go explore?”

“I say yes! Where should we go then?” I said

“I've been wanting to get off the beaten path for a while. There's a pretty nice spot about a mile away. I think it would be fun to go there. What do you say?” replied my brother.

“Obviously let's go there!” I said with excitement in my voice.

My brother said, “I see a humongous tree grove, kind of far back. I bet there is a whole bunch of big mushrooms in there! How about we go there?”

”Okay!” I responded with saliva in my mouth thinking of the delicious soup.  Off we went! It was pretty fun playing around as we walked. We found some sticks and played swords. We swung our sticks trying to hit the other person.  If I was able to softly tap my brother, then I got a point.  It was really fun.  We played this all the way to the grove of trees. We finally hiked the mile to the spot where we were sure to find a mushroom. It was getting dark, but the stars always looked so pretty in the night and lit up our adventure. I love seeing them through the Aspens

 leaves.

I looked around and I said, “Wow! Look at that humongous mushroom! Let's go get that one!”

My brother came up and he touched the mushroom. Little did we know it was a zombie mushroom! It was known to be the most scary type of mushroom ever. It usually only affects ants, unless the mushrooms grow extra big. Here's how it works. There is the zombie mushroom, right? Yeah, yeah you're following along with me. Right? Right? The mushroom waits until an ant tries biting it, then it gets in through its mouth and up into its head. The ant no longer has its own thoughts; it doesn't respond to anybody, it just walks and walks until it finds a tree or a little branch. It grab on with its little pincers and then it just stays there until the ant dies and the mushroom puts out new spores to make new mushrooms. But this one was so big it could affect a full grown human. We had to get him home fast. Luckily he didn't just bite it; he grabbed it with his hands. I saw how it got on his hands. We had to go home as fast as we could. I picked him up and I started running. I was the bigger brother. We were twins but I was one second older than him and I never let him forget. Faster and faster I ran and ran and I ran until I got home past the gate.

I yelled “Mom. Dad. Hurry! He touched a humongous zombie fungi. We have it to get him inside and give him the cure or he'll die.”

“Hurry!” my mom said. I put his hands in the sink and we had to cut off some of his skin. The cure was a hug from my mom.  It was the sweetest hug ever that our mom had given to him. She put her arms around his back and said “I love you son. I love you.”

Have you ever wondered what bird can grow to be 4 feet tall? If you guessed a macaw then you are right.  Macaws are one of the most beautiful birds in the forest. These Exquisite animals live in Northern, Central and South America.

Macaws are one of the most beautiful birds in the forest. The macaws are a bird that is a type of parrot. Macaws are known for their distinctive bare facial patches and long tails.  They come in many different colors such from the boldest, red, the most vivid turquoise.

in math I have been doing algebra. it is working my skills. in ela I’ve been learning how to diagram sentences, write bigger and better paragraphs, and use stronger verbs.  When diagramming sentences you have your subject and verb on the top.  Sometimes this makes you sound like a caveman, but it still makes sense.  Then you get to add in your adjectives and adverbs below which help you to sound like a normal person.  Being able to write my own book report each month, then sitting down with my mom to talk about how to make it better has helped me in my writing.  Finally, I’ve learned to use a variety of verbs.  For example, instead of saying “went”, you could use verbs like “explored”, “traveled”, or “scurried”.  This makes my writing more interesting to read.
